Beginning Again

After 3 years of non-posting on our website, Todd and I decided to start a blog for friends and family to keep up with the Charlotte Chitesters. We'll try to post regularly - mostly photos and stories of the goings on of the kids and family.

I write this from the beach. We are on our FIRST family vacation since we've had kids- just the 5 of us. It really is a special treat made a reality by Mom and Dad Jackson who found and booked the condo for us. We're on Wrightsville Beach for the week and having a blast. Didn't realize how much we needed this time - the stress has been melting off. We are all enjoying the time together. Mom and Dad left for Scotland today and we are looking forward to hearing their stories when they return.

At Caleb's behest we went to the NC Aquarium today. It's a favorite spot of his and he was eager to share it with Addison and Todd, neither of whom have been. We all enjoyed watching a diver explain the fish to us in the main tank. This was especially thrilling for Caleb who says he wants to be a diver when he grows up. He had MANY questions for the divers.... Other favorites where seeing the sharks, alligators, jelly fish, sea horses, and squid... Caleb even got to feed a horseshoe crab some squid. There's nothing like calamari for lunch!

It's back to the beach and pool tomorrow. Caleb loves to body surf in the waves along the shore and jump the waves with Todd. Cole is finally taking to the pool after a summer of freaking out. We're hoping by week's end, he'll be less fearful of the ocean. Addison is a water baby - kicking her legs in the pool, crawling all over the beach. She is getting into everything these days -- it is such a joy having her in our lives...
